One of the most influential Mommy Bloggers niche in Cloth Diapers, Kim Rosas from Dirty Diaper Laundry is petitioning the Ellen Show to feature the Modern Cloth Diaper on her show. The idea is called #OperationFluffy and currently there are hundreds of moms petitioning the Ellen Show across various social media platforms.
When I saw passionate cloth diapering mamas in the Bambino Mio and Regal Lager Twittering network, I immediately had to find out what this was all about (and I must admit, I do feel a little behind on this knowledge).
So according to the Blog Post written by Kim, there are three phases to #OperationFluffy. To paraphrase:
Phase 1 involves utilizing social media to send the messages to Ellen regarding the Modern Cloth diaper. This includes Twitter, blogs et. Cetera.
Phase 2 are videos of babies dancing in cloth diapers (I cannot wait for this phase).
Phase 3 Kim will make a cloth diaper with Ellen on it. It will then be mailed around the world and people will take videos or photos with it on their baby to help "Ellen Conquer the World".
I can’t help but admire such tenacity that Kim as well as other cloth diaper mamas have displayed with this campaign. Regardless of us representing Bambino Mio cloth diapers, this is going to help spread the word that Modern Cloth diapering is simple, but most of all the best option for your family for reasons involving babies health and cost savings for families. Want to know how you can help #Operation Fluffy? Visit the Dirty Diaper Laundry website to see how you can be involved in this modern diaper revolution!

In the wake of recent recalls in the juvenile industry Regal Lager and Cybex have responded in a quick and responsible way to the situation. Within one week of the news breaking about the Maclaren hinges, Cybex was ramping up production of a hinge cover of their own, as some of their strollers have a similar hinge mechanism. Three models (Ruby, Onyx and Topaz, from the Cybex Gems Collection) may pose a fingertip amputation and laceration hazard to the child when the consumer is unfolding/opening the stroller. All affected strollers shipped from our warehouse after November had a hinge cover retrofit kit included.
New 2010 Gems models, ready to be shipped out in the near future, have hinge covers installed. Retailers have received hinge covers since early December for their inventory and floor models. Consumers are encouraged to either go to our website, call Regal Lager Customer Care toll free at: 1 (800)593-5522 or send an e-mail to info@regallager.com to receive a free and easy to install hinge cover retrofit kit and instructions. Please note that the Cybex Callisto is not affected of this Recall to Repair due to its unique hinge design. There has been one incident, reported to us right after the Maclaren recall, and the child is fine. We are proud to work with manufacturers that are responsible and proactive in situations where a child’s safety may be compromised.

Dave Milligan, Sales Development Manager at Regal Lager has been elected to the board of The Real Diaper Industry Association. Regal Lager is the exclusive distributor in the United States of the award-winning Bambino Mio cloth diapering system from England.
Milligan has been in the juvenile industry since 1989. He was a retail store manager for 15 years in Salt Lake City, before becoming national sales manager for juvenile furniture company and then a stroller company. He joined Regal Lager in 2008.
“Today’s parents are definitely concerned about their children’s future environment and want to make their contribution. And today’s modern cloth diapers have evolved tremendously compared to ‘your mother’s/grandmother’s cloth diapers’,” said Milligan. “Combine that with the positive impact on the environment and substantial financial savings for the consumer, cloth diapers will continue to grow rapidly and give retailers a nice profit as well.”
Manufacturers, retailers and diaper services are working together in the Real Diaper Industry Association to continue this momentum and make cloth diapers the preferred method of diapering, said Bengt Lager, Regal Lager president.
“Regal Lager is excited and honored to have Dave join the RDIA board and we hope to be able to contribute to the continued success of cloth diapers,” he continued.

With the recent addition of Cybex, a brand that develop and manufacture car seats, strollers, baby carriers and wraps, Regal Lager initiated a Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Certification Training at its facility.
As Cybex is #1 in Europe for excellent car seat safety we felt it was important to understand all aspects of car seats and overall car safety as we distribute car seats to consumers. There are now five certified technicians with the goal of 100 percent of the staff being certified. One of the recently certified technicians, Allen Bourne our Creative Service Manager discusses his experience in the CPS training program.
What steps are involved to become certified by the CPS?
"The National Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Certification Training Program is a standardized training program involving National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Safe Kids and the national CPS Board. There are 32 hours total, with 28 hours of classroom work and 5 hours at a check event, where you teach parents how to install car seats. The curriculum was disseminated through PowerPoint presentations and hands on demonstrations."
Can you explain your experience in the classroom?
"We had two great instructors, Sarah Tilton and Phil Pyrzbylo. It was a very intense course with a lot of information to cover. It was a lot more material involved than what I first expected. However the instructors did a great job in relating the material to the trainees so that we all could understand. There were three written tests, two skills tests and a check event in which you educate parents about proper car safety. You learn the best practices then apply them to Selection Direction, Location and Installation.
How did this training affect you as a consumer, a parent and employee of a company that works with car seats?
"As a tech, my response is the best car seat is the one that fits your baby, car and is one you will use correctly every time. As a consumer, I now see car seats more on an equal plane. Every car seat sold has the basic necessities to keep your child safe. The disparity in car seats are an increase in robust safety features. As a parent I am more aware of my children’s needs and child restraints. I can now teach my family how to correctly restrain my children in other people’s cars. As an employee I can now translate all the things I have learned in class to more intuitive instructions, better warning labels and better information on our websites, of course the best seat is a cybex one."
What was the most memorable experience about the training?
"The car seat check was the most memorable. Interacting with the parents and children was the best experience. The parents were very appreciative and grateful for our help."
Will you build upon your training, by taking more classes?
"I’d like to eventually be an instructor and volunteer often in the community."
Who should take these classes?
"Anyone who sells car seats, who have interaction with car seats and are concerned about their child’s safety - so that should be everyone, right?"

With a plethora of choices for strollers, parents can easily select strollers that are complimentary to their individual lifestyles and comparable to their personalities. Jogging strollers are perfect for the sporty parents in rougher terrain, however for busy parents who desire a lightweight stroller that stresses safety and design, Cybex strollers are the best choice of strollers.
Currently, the Cybex Stroller line consists of the Gem Collection: Ruby, Onxy and Topaz and the Callisto, the premier stroller from Cybex. All of our reclining umbrella strollers with a five point safety harness. Other common features include the convenient one-touch brake and rear wheel suspension. The covers are washable and come with more convenient features including spacious shopping baskets, rain covers and a generous canopy with an extra fold out visor on top models.
The Ruby is the basic line in the stroller collection and offers a great value to parents. Weighing in at only 12lbs., the Ruby is one of lightest strollers on the market. A step up in features and functionality is the Onyx Stroller. The Onyx is also equipped with rear wheel suspension and an automatic swivel lock. The patented central one-pull harness system allows the parent to quickly adjust the harness straps around the shoulder and chest. The Onyx weighs in at 16lbs. has four positions of recline and a canopy with a peek-a-boo window and pocket. The last stroller in the gem collection is the Topaz. The Topaz weighing in at 18lbs. has all features and functionality of the Onyx but takes it a step further. The height adjustable handlebar allows for more mobility and is convenient for parents of different heights. The Topaz also has a detachable bumper bar, ultra comfortable head hugger and shoulder pads.
Lastly, The Callisto is the top of the line stroller from Cybex and in a category of its own. The Callisto stands out as an extremely versatile ultra lightweight urban stroller. Distinguished by its aluminum rims with a single spoke design, the Callisto has the ideal design and functionality for urbanites such as the innovative comfort suspension, which helps the user to maneuver smoothly over bumps and curves. Other intelligent functions include: four-position adjustable back rest; three-position sun canopy and detachable side covers and one-hand folding mechanism and one-touch brake link. These features make the Callisto conveniently easy to use and greatly increases mobility.
Cybex strollers are distinctly fashionable and come in eye-catching colors such as Chili, Purple, Slate and Indigo that will make a splash while out and about. Recognizing parents' appreciation of aesthetically appealing and well designed products, Cybex have taken the lead in incorporating the latest colors and designs of the season. Each year, Cybex designs and colors will incorporate fashions and colors from the runways of Paris, Milan and New York.
Simply put, Cybex strollers are quality driven products that incorporate intelligent functionality and chic designs. Coming soon is the Aton infant car seat, converting the Onyx, Topaz and Callisto into a complete travel system.

Customer care is very important to Regal+Lager. When product improvements are made, many times it is through the recommendations of our customers.
I’ve had the opportunity to train and assist the customer care team. It is very interesting to hear the thoughts and opinions of our customers and to understand their encounters with our products. Just recently, I had my first big breakthrough in helping a customer solve a problem! The customer called about the Lascal KiddyGuard gate which would not open.
I immediately thought “I have to give this customer a new gate, it’s broken!” After asking a few questions about the length of time the customer used this product and the date of purchase I realized the customer surpassed the warranty time. Dreading the thought of disappointing someone, I placed the customer on hold to see if we could possibly replace a part that may be broken within the gate. After relaying the dilemma to my co-worker and wonderful customer service/returns manager Monica, she informed me that all the customer had to do was tighten the spring within the baby safety gate. If you turn over the gate where the release button is facing downward, there is a circle with a silver cross within it. By inserting a flathead screw driver into bottom of the gate and by rotating 30 to 40 times, the spring within the KiddyGuard gate will tighten and the gate will be able to open and close.
I was a little skeptical, but the customer performed the task while I listened in on the phone. Sure enough the little trick worked! I think the customer was skeptical as well, but when it worked he was so excited about this quick fix and he exclaimed “You’re awesome and really know your stuff!” Well of course, I didn’t know as much as the Customer care team, but the feeling of being able to solve an issue, even as small as a baby safety gate, gave me such a feeling of accomplishment! And, although the customer didn’t know it, I learned several lessons that day which will ultimately help me be a better asset in helping customers understand our products through customer services and through our marketing efforts.
